The 10th Annual Governance, Risk, and Control (GRC) Conference, scheduled from August 21 to 23, 2023, in Las Vegas, NV, and virtually, is a collaborative effort by ISACA and The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). This year’s conference is designed to equip GRC and internal audit professionals with the skills and insights necessary to tackle emerging business challenges. The event will cover a range of cutting-edge topics, including Generative AI, the metaverse, third-party risk, DevSecOps, bias in AI, zero trust, and more.
The conference program will delve into these critical themes within the context of core GRC principles, drawing connections to cybersecurity, data, technology trends, team building, and personal career development. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how these issues are poised to impact businesses and how GRC and internal audit practitioners can effectively shape these impacts.
Notable keynote speakers include Shawn Kanungo, a renowned innovation strategist and bestselling author, who will explore how professionals can harness innovation and disruptions to enhance their value. Dr. Erika Hamden, an astrophysicist and assistant professor at the University of Arizona, will guide attendees on building confidence and resilience through everyday acts of bravery. Shira Rubinoff, president of Prime Tech Partners and SecureMySocial, will delve into the interplay of people, processes, and technology in the realm of cybersecurity.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the GRC Conference and the collaboration between ISACA and The IIA, executives from both organizations will participate in a panel discussion. This discussion will center around the future skills and resources that professionals need to navigate periods of disruption and change. Notable panelists include executives from ISACA such as Shannon Donahue and Julia Kanouse, and executives from The IIA including Brad Monterio and Lindsay Patterson.
The conference also offers two pre-conference workshops on August 20. The first workshop, “Auditing at the Speed of Innovation,” led by Megan Hall, Chief Information and Infrastructure Officer at First National Bank of Paragould, will focus on auditing in rapidly evolving landscapes. The second workshop, “Cyber Risk Quantification,” facilitated by Dr. Jack Freund, former Vice President at BitSight, will delve into assessing and quantifying cyber risks.
Participants have the opportunity to earn up to 17.6 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credits for attending the conference and an additional 7.2 CPE credits for the pre-conference workshops. While virtual registration closes on August 18, in-person registration will be open until the conference reaches capacity.
