The 32nd Annual RegTech Convention, hosted by Regnology, will once again serve as one of the most important global gatherings for financial regulators, supervisors, and institutions. Taking place from November 17–19, 2025, in Frankfurt, Germany, and continuing on November 20 in Zürich, Switzerland, the hybrid event is expected to convene more than 2,000 participants from over 120 countries. Across four days, the program will deliver more than 40 sessions blending live keynotes, interactive discussions, and specialist tracks in SupTech, RegTech, and Tax.
This year’s theme, “Straight-Through-Reporting (STR): Entering a New Era of Regulatory Intelligence,” frames the convention around the transformative potential of STR. Drawing inspiration from Straight-Through Processing (STP) in capital markets, STR aims to establish a seamless, data-driven model for regulatory operations. By automating and streamlining reporting processes, STR could fundamentally alter the relationship between regulators and the regulated community, creating an environment of collaboration, transparency, and efficiency. Discussions will cover pressing areas such as crypto reporting frameworks, the implications of Basel IV (CRR3), the OECD’s CARF/DAC8, advances in granular data collection, and the role of AI in supervisory oversight.
The speaker lineup reflects the high level of expertise and influence the convention attracts each year. Tomas Sedlacek, renowned international economist and author, will open with a wide-ranging keynote on the geopolitical and systemic pressures shaping financial regulation today. Jan Hendrik Schmidt, head of the Artificial Intelligence Hub at the ECB’s Horizontal Supervision Directorate, will focus on how regulatory data has shifted from being a compliance byproduct to becoming a central pillar of strategic infrastructure. More than 60 distinguished speakers are confirmed, including senior representatives from the ECB, OeNB, EIOPA, the Central Bank of Ireland, Commerzbank, FlatexDEGIRO, and Firebrand Research, with further names to be announced.
Beyond its main stage, the RegTech Convention 2025 broadens its reach with new regional editions in New York and Singapore, while also reinforcing its community-driven spirit with satellite events in London, Paris, Warsaw, Geneva, Zurich, and Bellinzona. This expansion underscores the event’s global scope and its role in shaping a unified conversation on regulatory transformation. As Rob Mackay, CEO of Regnology, highlighted, STR holds the promise of being as revolutionary for regulation as STP was for capital markets, setting the stage for more connected, streamlined, and resilient frameworks worldwide.
Attendance remains free for regulatory authorities and financial institutions, with hybrid participation ensuring accessibility both in-person and online. All sessions will be live-streamed and later available on-demand, ensuring that the knowledge shared in Frankfurt and Zürich continues to resonate long after the convention closes. This year’s edition promises to chart not only the future of regulatory intelligence but also the evolving balance between compliance, innovation, and trust in global financial systems.
