Japan Maritime Daily (JMD), the leading maritime newspaper in Japan, is pleased to announce its first global shipping seminar, titled “Future of Shipping towards Net Zero,” taking place in Singapore on September 4, 2023. The event, co-organized with the Singapore Exchange (SGX), aims to explore decarbonization strategies for the shipping industry and highlight the initiatives of major shipping companies.

Speech by SGX Group: Mr. Kenneth Ng, Director of SGX Group, will discuss SGX’s FFA (freight futures) product and its role in connecting global trade growth.
Expert Insights: A team of analysts from UK-based maritime consultants MSI (Maritime Strategies International) will present their analysis of the impact of decarbonization on the shipping industry.
Panel Discussion: Moderated by Mr. Jigo Hayashi, Joint General Manager of Tokyo Century Corporation’s Ship Finance Division, the panel discussion will feature industry leaders discussing the challenges of decarbonization and exploring new fuel options. Confirmed panelists include Mr. Peter Norborg, CEO of Swire Bulk, and Mr. Sung Yong Do, Managing Director of Meadway Shipping Singapore. An additional speaker or topic will be confirmed soon.
