Streaming Video Alliance Hosts 2022 West Coast STREAMup, June 22, 2022

Virtual Meetup to Focus on FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV)

FREMONT, Calif., June 21, 2022 – The Streaming Video Alliance, a global technical association developing solutions to address critical technical challenges in delivering a high-quality video experience at scale, is hosting a virtual event on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm PT. The STREAMup will be hosted via Zoom and is scheduled to accommodate the streaming community on the West Coast, however it is open to all who would like to participate.

“The industry is seeing remarkable growth in FAST and yet it is also experiencing a number of technical challenges in delivering this type of streaming content to market and providing a high-quality user experience,” said Jason Thibeault, Executive Director at the Streaming Video Alliance. “FAST presents exciting new opportunities in streaming which we’ll explore today along with how to solve some of the most pressing technical issues.”

Today’s STREAMup will feature two presentations:

“Building a Scalable FAST Service” – Spencer Shanson, SVP Product Architecture, Pluto TV
“Playback Challenges of Client-Side & Server-Side Ad Supported Streams” – Matthew Carrigan, Solutions Architect, Bitmovin
