Newegg Hosts Second Annual PC Builder Competition at COMPUTEX 2024, June 7, 2024

The competition will take place at 10 a.m. National Standard Time in the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1, 4th Floor, Area M. The event is open to all COMPUTEX attendees, offering a unique opportunity to witness the intricate process of assembling the ultimate desktop PC system. Five Taiwan-based DIY PC assemblers will compete, selecting parts from leading component manufacturers and racing against the clock to build fully functional and innovative PC systems. The builds will be judged on creativity, proper assembly, and completion time, with the winner earning a trophy, bragging rights for the year, and their completed PC.

Newegg’s first PC Builder Competition in April 2023 was a resounding success, held at Taipei’s Syntrend Creative Park. It featured five teams rapidly building desktop PCs, attracting a large and enthusiastic crowd. The 2024 competition aims to surpass the excitement of the previous year, leveraging the larger stage of COMPUTEX to reach a broader audience of technology diehards.

The event will be narrated in both English and Chinese, with live PC building content displayed on a monitor featuring AI-translated subtitles. Audience members will have the chance to witness the intricate details of PC assembly and cheer on the contestants as they strive to beat the previous year’s record of 36 minutes and 2 seconds.
